Buknoculars – Solving the Low Light Challenge

Every hunter knows the frustration of identifying a target in low-light conditions. And if you are like me, when you finally see the animal you have been after, it is dusk and getting close to last shootable light. Even binoculars with Star Wars-level coatings can fail to get the job done in these conditions. Recently, though, I found a solution—the Buk Ops Bucnoculars.

Buknoculars – A Dusk and Low Light Hunting Solution

The Buknoculars from BUK OPS are a unique optics offering aimed squarely at the hunting and low-light observation market. Their standout feature is the company’s proprietary “Primetime Color Vision” technology, designed to enhance visibility during dawn and dusk. This patent-pending technology drastically improves low-light performance, maximizing every moment of shooting time.

Quickly identify your target buck in vivid color when traditional optics only provide a graying silhouette. Primetime Color Vision does not use thermal imaging or infrared; it is its own proprietary technology, unlike any other!  The Buknoculars instead use this proprietary conversion process to augment natural light and deliver color images in low-light conditions.

Rear Screen

Beyond the impressive technology, the Buknoculars have also done away with the traditional dual eye pieces we see in regular binoculars. Instead, it is replaced with a screen at the rear of the housing. The result is a much easier view with no wrestling with individual lens focusing.

Operation of the Buknoculars is straightforward. All the controls are easily accessible by your fingertips, and the operation is very intuitive. You can easily increase or decrease magnification with the press of a button as well as adjust screen brightness. Throw in the ability to record, and it eliminates the need for a camera adapter.

Record Video

I found the Buknoculars to be very easy to use and effective. They came in very handy during a recent hog hunt in Texas. The ability to scan the surrounding area with a large-screen device gave me a detailed view without being trapped in my binoculars. The last thing I will mention is the batteries. This device runs on standard AA batteries, which makes replacement both easy and inexpensive.

Buknoculars have a large rear screen.

Buknoculars

The Buknoculars will be a standard item in my hunting kit from now on. If you are looking for something that cuts through the low-light challenge without paying for thermal or night vision, the Buknoculars are worth a serious look.
